Volunteer Your Time
Loving Food Resources is a volunteer-driven food pantry. Volunteers are at the heart and soul of LFR. They help our clients while enjoying the company of like-minded friends.
Some volunteer roles include:
- Sorting and shelving products to be ready for clients
- Being available to help with product selection on Saturday during operating hours
- Driving clients to their homes after shopping on Saturdays between the hours of 10:00AM-1:00PM. Many clients depend on public transportation to get to LFR, but returning home on the bus with their food is not feasible as a food box can weigh up to 50 lbs. Most clients live within 3 miles of LFR.

Organize a Food Drive
It’s easier than you think! And Loving Food Resources will help. Contact us through email ([email protected]) or call 828-255-9282. We can assist in the planning.
A birthday party, classroom project, church food drive, civic club undertaking, neighborhood endeavor, or company project are all good opportunities to hold a food drive. The Donation Calendar on our website specifies the items we need most. A food drive for LFR can help fill our shelves for clients as well as spread the word about the pantry.

Make a Financial Contribution
Checks should be made out to Loving Food Resources (or simply, LFR) and mailed to 123 Kenilworth Rd, Asheville, NC 28803. Or, donations can be made online. All donations receive written acknowledgements for tax purposes and gratitude.
Legacy Gift
A legacy gift is a planned future donation to a charity, given through a will or other form of designation. Examples include charitable gift annuities, bequests, and life insurance policies. If your desire is to leave a lasting legacy to ensure that Loving Food Resources continues to be a place where nutritional needs are met with Love , Compassion and Respect for future generations .
